A Personal Need and an Opportunity

The Director, Jackson Chow, was looking for public speaking and debate classes for his seventh-grade son. The options were few and expensive.

First Course Offering

In June, Communication Academy opened its door with one Summer Camp. Students were excited to show off their newly acquired public speaking skills in front of a supportive audience: their families and friends.

Expansion Due to Demand

Within two years, Communication Academy grew from a one week summer camp to offering Speech and Debate courses at Recreation Centers and School Districts in Cupertino, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Campbell, Santa Clara, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Fremont, Milpitas, De Anza College and many private schools.

All Forms of Communication

Parents, happy with the results their children were achieving through Communication Academy’s courses, started asking for a larger variety of class options that catered to more age-levels.

Broadened Curricula

As parents wished to continue improving their children’s communication skills and self-confidence, Communication Academy expanded all courses into new four-course series for Public Speaking, Debate, Academic Writing, Creative Writing and Academic Reading.

The Language of Math

Further building upon its vision of embracing all forms of communication including Math as a computational language, Communication Academy began offering math enrichment and math competition courses.

Further Growth

As demand for our courses increased in other cities, Communication Academy began to offer courses with the recreation centers of Dublin, Foster City, and San Mateo.
